A lightweight Instagram content plan for small brands

Pick three or four recurring themes you can return to indefinitely — for a café that might be behind-the-scenes, a weekly special, a customer story, and a quick tip. Pillars make planning fast because you're choosing within a set, not from a blank page.

Set a cadence you can keep

1. Decide how many posts per week are realistic — then commit to it.
2. Batch a week or two ahead so one hectic week doesn't break the rhythm.
3. Schedule in advance and keep a small buffer of evergreen posts.

Review and adjust monthly

At month's end, look at which pillar and which format performed best, and shift the mix toward it. Growth tactics like reel views can give a strong post extra momentum, but the plan is what compounds over time.
